The Merrick Family
Faith, Love, and Service

"Our adoption journey taught us that family isn't just about blood—it's about love, commitment, and God's perfect plan. Homeschooling our daughters has allowed us to instill the values we cherish while watching them grow in faith and character. I support Jake's run for governor because I've seen firsthand his unwavering commitment to the principles that make families and communities strong."
— Mrs. Merrick, Jake's wife of 14 years
Personal Testimony
My faith journey began at a young age when I accepted Christ as my Savior. That decision has guided every aspect of my life, from my education and career choices to how we raise our family.
As a seminary graduate and former pastor, I've dedicated much of my life to understanding and teaching God's Word. But it's in our home where faith becomes most tangible—through daily prayer, Bible study, and living out our beliefs in practical ways.
Our decision to adopt was born from our conviction that every child deserves a loving home. The process strengthened our faith as we witnessed God's perfect timing and provision. Similarly, homeschooling allows us to integrate biblical principles into every subject while nurturing our daughters' unique gifts.
My faith isn't just personal—it informs my vision for leadership. I believe Oklahoma needs leaders who govern with biblical wisdom, moral clarity, and a commitment to protecting families. As governor, I'll defend religious liberty and support policies that strengthen the family unit.
